Description
Summary:A model, which describes contaminant transport in statistically homogeneous, disordered medium with sharply contrasting properties, is analyzed. At intermediate times, when there is no equilibrium between mobile and immobile contaminant fractions, the transport is described by a set of regimes of anomalous diffusion kind. At asymptotically large time, when equilibrium between the contaminant in mobile and immobile domains takes place, the classical regime of advection-dispersion occurs with transport constants depending on parameters of the medium. For this case a range of parameter values exist, for which the system behavior is not described by the conventional equilibrium sorption model for homogeneous media.
