Summary: | Estimates of per cent cover were combined with classification, ordination, and correlation techniques to describe the vegetation in the Pinus yunnanensis-sclerophyllous broadleaved forests of Mianning County, southwestern Sichuan, China. Ecological characteristics of major plant species are reviewed and used to interpret results from the multivariate techniques employed in this study. The distribution of plant species is shown to be significantly influenced by slope aspect, slope position and disturbance. However, the above factors explain only a portion of the variation seen in the vegetation on the landscape. |
