Summary: | With this in mind, Masanga hospital has teamed up with the MENTOR initiative, a non-governmental organisation initially set up to strengthen malaria control; experts in technology enhanced learning in Plymouth University's Peninsula medical school; and a UK-based company, Immersive Learning, to develop an engaging computer-based training platform in Ebola management to be rolled out from hospitals into clinics and the community. Once the module is complete, the consortium intends to introduce it to communities across west Africa using the cascade training approach shown by van Kesteren's students. Because it is computer-based, it should be straightforward to take into remote communities, to translate into other dialects, and to adapt to local practices, and visiting trainers who might spread the infection further is not necessary. |
