Summary: | This paper describes the state of knowledge on the natural and anthropic evolution of the sedimentary environments of the Asturian and Cantabrian coasts (NW of Spain) developed in a rocky coast during the last century. Natural erosive and sedimentary processes and also the same processes induced by the anthropic management are described. Dune fields, beaches and estuaries are the main sedimentary units which experienced the major changes, but some protection and conservation policies have been implemented during the last decades. |
