Description
Summary:This paper presents an explicit hybrid predictive controller in order to improve battery performance and battery durability in hybrid PEM fuel cell vehicles. This kind of hybrid controller is proposed to tackle this complex control problem which involves handling piecewise affine models and discrete variables, and to reduce the computational time which is the drawback of the model predictive control. The control strategy is to track motor power demand and to keep battery state of charge near the optimal value which minimizes the hydrogen consumption. Moreover, this controller takes different constraints into consideration in order to reduce fuel cell and battery degradation. Likewise, a hybrid control model is elaborated by simplifying non-linear vehicle model and including discrete variables. Finally, this work shows simulation results which demonstrates the feasibility of the real implementation in terms of execution time.
