Summary: | Biological control systems exhibit many properties desirable for industrial process control, including robustness to disturbances and faults. We have developed control schemes based upon baroreflex regulation of blood pressure and have tested these controllers on a model of the heart and circulatory system. This work implements two aspects of the blood pressure control system: adaptation or resetting of the baroreceptors and use of multiple time scale controllers in parallel. |
