Acanthoscelides from Ecuador and Venezuela. Of particular interest is that the distribution and hosts of
A. zeteki, which sometimes feeds in the seeds of the economically important pigeon pea (
Cajanus cajan), are reported. Of the 28 species, 3 feed in the seeds of the Tiliaceae and 25 in the seeds of the Leguminosae. Fifteen species feed in the legume subfamily Papilionoideae, eight in the Mimosoideae and two in the Caesalpinioideae. |
