Description
Summary:The program, "Articles on Demand: Library Perspectives," sponsored by the ALCTS Continuing Resources Section and RUSA Sharing and Transforming Access to Resources Section, featured three speakers who described library projects and programs for purchasing individual articles for library users. In this session the term "articles-on-demand" refers to the process of purchasing individual journal articles for individual users, either directly from the publisher (called pay-per-view by the presenters), or through an intermediate service working with a publisher or publishers, such as a document delivery service. The purchasing transaction occurs at the individual article level, either through payment at that time or through deduction from a deposit account.
