Description
Summary:The immunostimulant effects of fermented products of chicken egg (EF203) were examined in rainbow trout, Oncorhynchus mykiss, vaccinated with Renibacterium salmoninarum bacterin. The vaccinated fish treated with EF203 showed higher phagocytic activities as compared with the vaccinated fish without EF203 treatment or the unvaccinated fish. The nitroblue tetrazolium (NBT) responses in kidney leucocytes also increased in vaccinated and EF203 treated fish groups. However, the serum agglutinating antibody titres of vaccinated fish did not show a significant increase between the EF203 group and the control. Rainbow trout treated with EF203 showed slightly increased survival over that of other groups following R. salmoninarum challenge.
