Description
Summary:The possibility of simulating the actual process of die forging of an AK6 aluminum alloy forged piece using a DEFORM-3D computer program is investigated. The following parameters corresponding to process conditions are introduced: die heating temperature of 350°C, blank heating temperature of 360–470°C, press travel velocity of 5 mm/s, and friction factor (by Siebel) of 0.5. It is shown that computer simulation in the DEFORM-3D program makes it possible to analyze actual processes of die forging of aluminum alloys and to recommend their correction.
