Description
Summary:ABSTRACT A varactor diode reconfigurable ultra‐wideband antenna that with electrically controlling the rejects on‐demand WiMAX, WLAN, and C‐BAND signals in the entire 3.1–10.3 GHz range is presented. The antenna design, embedding the active devices, integration with the varactor diode, and biasing network are described. A method to vary the rejection on‐demanded bandwidth is also provided. The fabrication prototype is conformal and double‐sided. Results indicate a successful integration and minimal interference of the varactor diode voltage and biasing circuitry with the antenna, paving the road for more integrated reconfigurable antenna on communication systems using active devices technology. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
