Summary:A questionnaire was sent to abalone farmers, researchers, and feed companies to determine the composition of artificial diets sold commercially and those under development, the research that has been done to determine the nutritional requirements of abalone, and farmer's requirements for artificial diets other than nutritional quality. Artificial diets contain a high protein and carbohydrate content and a low lipid and fibre content.
