Effect of Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy on the Surgical Treatment of Patients With Locally Advanced Breast Cancer Requiring Initial Mastectomy

Micro-Abstract In this study we evaluated the rate of breast-conserving surgery (BCS) after neoadjuvant chemotherapy in 168 patients who required initial mastectomy. Eighty-six patients (72.3%) eventually underwent BCS. Oncoplastic techniques were used in 29 patients (33.6%) to achieve BCS.
