Biochemistry of methanogenesis : a tribute to marjory stephenson

The following review summarizes what we presently know about the biochemistry of methanogenesis, emphasis being put on the enzyme methyl-coenzyme M reductase catalysing the methane-forming reaction proper. It is a tribute to Marjory Stephenson, who discovered hydrogenase in these micro-organisms.
