Plankton-picking by the goatfish Pseudupeneus maculatus(Mullidae), a specialized bottom forager

Although goatfishes (Mullidae) include c. 50 specialized bottom foraging species, juvenile and adult spotted goatfish Pseudupeneus maculatus were recorded feeding on plankton on rocky reefs off southern and north‐eastern Brazil, respectively.
