Summary: | This study examined the effects of short-duration, HI exercise training on fitness and body composition for youth. Two groups of children participated in this quasi-experimental study: 9 in the Intervention Group (IG; mean =10.6 yrs, 8 M, 1 F), and 6 in the Comparison Group (CG; mean =11.3 yrs, 6 M). The IG participated in HI exercise (45 min, 2d/wk, 4wks). Both groups completed pretest and posttest fitness assessments, as well as a Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry scan 4 weeks apart. Difference scores were computed for each fitness test and t-tests were conducted for statistical significance between groups.
