Description
Summary:The structure and electrochemical properties of poly(ethylene terephthalate) track membrane modified by acetylene plasma were studied. It was found that polymer deposition on the surface of a track membrane by plasma polymerization of acetylene results in the creation of composite membranes that, in the case of formation of a thin semipermeable layer, possess an asymmetry of conductivity in electrolyte solutions – a rectification effect. It is caused by the reduction of the pores diameter due to the plasma polymer that results in changing the pore geometry, and as well due to the existence of an interface between the initial membrane and the polymer layer which have various concentrations of carboxyl groups.
