Description
Summary:[Display omitted] The binding of mucin with three commercially available drugs (theophylline, cephalexin and prednisolone) belonging to different pharmaceutical classes was investigated. The studied drugs are normally used to treat the symptomatology of cystic fibrosis. The interaction between drugs and mucin has been investigated using fluorescence and UV–Vis absorption spectroscopy; quenching mechanism, binding constants, binding sites, thermodynamic parameters and binding distance of the interaction were obtained.
