Characterization of 10 polymorphic alpaca dinucleotide microsatellites

Source/description: The microsatellites VOLP-03, -05, -08, -10, -12, -17, -32, -33, -59, and -67 were isolated from an alpaca (Camelidae: Lama pacos) library, prepared on the pLITMUS 28 (Promega, Madison, WI, USA) vector, ligating BglII/BclI/BamHI-digested genomic DNA fragments of 500-800 bp into th...

Description
Summary:Source/description: The microsatellites VOLP-03, -05, -08, -10, -12, -17, -32, -33, -59, and -67 were isolated from an alpaca (Camelidae: Lama pacos) library, prepared on the pLITMUS 28 (Promega, Madison, WI, USA) vector, ligating BglII/BclI/BamHI-digested genomic DNA fragments of 500-800 bp into the BamHI-digested plasmid, according to Lund et al. Polymorphism: A group of 36 alpacas were analyzed using the ABI GeneScan software. Information regarding the locus names, repeat characteristics and allele number and size range, as well as the expected heterozygosity and PIC values, are shown in Table 2.
