Description
Summary:Correct management of water resources has been great interests especially in drought regions. For maximum profit in drought periods, efforts have focused on correct irrigation programs. One of the efficient techniques in areas where the fresh water shortage is to use deficit irrigation by drip system. In practice, there is different forms deficit irrigation by drip system. In this paper, therefore, we analyzed previous studies in regard to deficit irrigation by drip system for some field crops. We discussed benefits with some limitations of drip irrigation systems uses by regarding to those previous findings through world. One of the most important advantages of drip system is more suited to the deficit irrigation technique. By use of deficit irrigation by drip system average 25% volume of water saving can be made. Other important advantages of drip system are labor or water efficacy, fertilizer saving, and resulting higher or qualified yield. However, there were two main problems detected in drip-irrigated sugar beet. First one is aphid's attack and some chemicals had to be applied to solve that serious problem. Second one is almost none rainfall events have observed in vegetation periods of field crops. Therefore, crop leaves have covered by heavy dust. In result, deficit irrigation by drip system could be beneficial for areas having water scant conditions.
