Summary: | Treatment of potato leaf disks with ten
neo-clerodane diterpenes isolated from
Teucrium and with ten of their synthetic derivatives, resulted in a significant antifeedant activity against
Leptinotarsa decemlineata larvae in both choice and no-choice assays for nine of the natural products and three of the hemisynthetic compounds. Changes in the antifeedant activity were associated with certain structural features of the compounds and some significant aspects of the structure–activity relationship are discussed. |
