Does enzyme replacement therapy enhance brain-derived neurotrophic factor expression in Gaucher disease?

Highlights • BDNF levels are remarkably diminished in untreated patients with Gaucher disease. • BDNF levels increase after the restart of enzyme replacement therapy. • We demonstrate a relationship between BDNF and Gaucher disease.
