Summary: | Falls in older adults pose a serious health care challenge, yet long-term facility-based fall prevention programs are costly to the health-care system. The purpose of this pilot study was to examine the feasibility and benefits of a fall prevention program for community-dwelling older adults that included a home exercise program. It is hypothesized that with effective and long-term practice of appropriate dynamic and functionally-related exercise tasks, older adults will be able to improve their balance, mobility and (outdoor) walking ability. |
