Description
Summary:Drawing on the theoretical and methodological framework of narrative analysis, the aim of the present study was to investigate the performance of three women with aphasia during the storytelling of their stroke narratives. For that purpose, the analyses focused on the tellability of the narratives and the moral stance of the characters. These narratives were elicited using the focus group interview method and transcribed in accordance with the translation conventions of conversation analysts. The analyses revealed 1) the engagement of the storytellers in building the tellability of their narratives using a rich communicative repertoire, and 2) the rhetorical skills of the aphasic women in the construction of a positive self-image.
