Summary:The article presents the results of an exploratory research study in the field of language planning of the corpus type concerning the sports vocabulary of Colombian sign language (csl), used by the country's deaf sports community. The analysis of the samples collected among speakers from n cities showed sociolinguistic variations throughout the national territory. As a result of the study, 500 terms (between words and expressions) belonging to the technical-sports field were compiled. The objective of the exercise carried out was not to establish which signs should be standardized or not, or to define which should be called correct or incorrect in a standardization process.
