Summary: | Corynebacterium xerosis is a commensal, colonizing the skin, nasopharynx and conjunctival sac. Although not usually considered to be a pathogen there have been a number of cases reported in the literature where the organism has been the cause of significant disease, often in patients who are immunocompromised. We describe a case of brain abscess with Corynebacterium xerosis which we believe has not been previously reported. |
