Synthesis, photophysical and electrochemical properties of bay-axial perylene diimide–subphthalocyanine dyads

[Display omitted] Two novel perylene diimide–subphthalocyanine dyads in which the two macrocycles are linked together by a B–O bond have been synthesized. The electronic communication between the two chromophores was investigated by photophysical and electrochemical studies.
