A new and efficient method for the synthesis of I-,I--dihaloketones by oxyhalogenation of alkynes using oxoneARGaKX (X = Cl, Br, or I)

A simple and efficient method for the preparation of I-,I--dichloroketones, I-,I--dibromoketones, and I-,I--diiodoketones by oxyhalogenation of alkynes using oxoneARG and KX (X = Cl, Br, or I) is described.
