Summary: | In 2001, the Model of the Clinical Practice of Emergency Medicine was published by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education that mandated residents become competent in EUS by the conclusion of training [5]. Of the 11 US examinations required, participants identified the examinations that they were the most unfamiliar with including ocular (34.1%), soft tissue/musculoskeletal (31.8%), deep vein thrombosis (23.9%), thoracic (23.9%), pregnancy (17.0%), emergent echocardiography (12.5%), urinary tract (12.5%), hepatobiliary system (10.2%), abdominal aortic aneurysm (9.1%), procedural guidance (9.1%), and trauma (8.0%). |
