Description
Summary:The effect of modes of quenching cooling on the structure and corrosion resistance of heat-hardenable aluminum alloy V91T3 of the Al – Zn – Mg – Cu system is studied. Experimental data are used to plot the “temperature – hardness” and “temperature – time – corrosion rate” diagrams, which make it possible to predict the corrosion resistance of alloy V91T3 for various modes of quenching cooling. Equations relating the mass corrosion factor and the rate of pitting corrosion to the values of the hardening factor are suggested. The data obtained are used for predicting the phase composition and properties of component parts of a fabricated press mold.
