Summary: | A reliable and sensitive method based on micellar liquid chromatography was optimized for the analysis of the fluoroquinolones danofloxacin, difloxacin, ciprofloxacin and sarafloxacin in honey. The sample was 1 : 1 diluted in a 0.05 M sodium dodecyl sulfate solution buffered at pH = 3, thus avoiding an extraction step and the use of toxic chemicals. The fluoroquinolones were resolved in less than 25 min using a C18 column, without interference from the matrix. The mobile phase was a solution of 0.05 M sodium dodecyl sulfate, 1% 1-butanol and 0.5% triethylamine buffered at pH = 3, running under isocratic mode at 1 mL min
