Description
Summary:Super slippery sheet-layered and porous anodic aluminum oxide surfaces were prepared by simple electrochemical anodic and solution-impregnated self-assembly method. The as-prepared super slippery AAO surfaces show excellent slippery and anti-corrosion (7.4E+009 at after immersing in 3.5% NaCl solution for 1008h) performance. Moreover, the slippery property of AAO super slippery surface kept stably at low temperature changes. Such super slippery surfaces may enlarge metallic materials for practical applications. •We have prepared sheet-layered pores on aluminium substrates through simple electrochemical method.•Storage-type super slippery surfaces on sheet-layered and porous aluminium are fabricated by solution-impregnated self-assembly method.•The mechanism of AAO super slippery surface relies on sheet-layered pores on the substrates for storing lubricating oil.•Super slippery surfaces possessed excellent anti-corrosion and anti-icing and anti-fouling properties.•Super slippery surfaces in this report could keep slippery property for at least three months. Inspired by natural plants such as Nepenthes pitcher plants, super slippery surfaces have been developed to improve the attributes of repellent surfaces. In this report, super slippery porous anodic aluminium oxide (AAO) surfaces have fabricated by a simple and reproducible method. Firstly, the aluminium substrates were treated by an anodic process producing micro-nano structured sheet-layered pores, and then immersed in Methyl Silicone Oil, Fluororalkylsilane (FAS) and DuPont Krytox, respectively, generating super slippery surfaces. Such a good material with excellent anti-corrosion property through a simple and repeatable method may be potential candidates for metallic application in anti-corrosion and extreme environment.
