Summary: | Ajjawy shares a violent experience when he was just 15 years old in Yarmouk, a Palestinian neighborhood in Damascus. When he went home from school, some students joined Syrian-Palestinians who were defying the ban to commemorate the Land Day. There were a lot of shouting and fighting as people were arrested. As he walked faster through the rush of people, a young man standing in the doorway of an office of the Baathist party aimed his gun at his direction and shot. Luckily, he was able to reach his house and saw a big chunk of flesh missing on his left calf. One of his sisters was a nurse and treated his wound. |
