Summary: | The fruit oil of Cinnamomum zeylanicum Blume grown in Bangalore was analyzed by GC and GC/MS. Forty-nine constituents representing 94.5% of the oil were identified. The main constituents of the oil were α-pinene (11.2%), β-caryophyllene (11.0%), δ-cadinene (13.6%) and α-muurolol (9.8%). The composition of the oil in the present study is different from the earlier report on the oil wherein β-caryophyllene and (E)-cinnamyl acetate were the main constituents. |
