Description
Summary:The use of concrete-filled steel tubular (CFST) columns and reinforced concrete (RC) shear wall mixed structures has attracted the interest of structural engineers. The connection between the composite columns, the shear-wall edge members and concrete wall are critical. The connection behavior at the interface of the different elements has been a major subject of this study. Therefore, ten specimens were tested to investigate the force–slip behavior between a CFST column and an RC shear wall. Also a simplified model (two models: model with nonlinear springs, simple truss model) for predicting the force–slip relation based on experimental and numerical studies was presented. •In an experimental and analytical study, ten specimens were tested to investigate the force–slip behavior between a CFST column and an RC shear wall.•A simplified model for predicting the force–slip relation was also presented.•This study is a new research about CFST and RC shear walls.
