Does the food retail environment reflect UK public health recommendations for healthy eating?

Highlights • A convenience sample of 12 supermarkets was analysed. • 41,194 supermarket foods/drinks were categorized into food groups. • On average 36% of foods and drinks counted were fatty/sugary. • There is marked disparity between public health messages and the retail environment.
