Summary: | A new method of isophots is considered in application to the evaluation of the physical parameters of gas in the neutral atmospheres of comets. It is compared to the method of circular diaphragms. The use of the method of isophots in the photometric observations of comet 2009/P1 (Garradd) has shown that it is completely applicable to the retrieving of the hydrodynamic velocity of the gas outflow and the lifetime of molecules in the neutral atmospheres of comets. |
