Description
Summary:A study of visible‐light‐driven hydrogen production using a multicomponent system consisting of different boron dipyrromethene (BODIPY) dyes, triethylamine and [{Pd(PPh3)Cl2}2] from THF/water mixtures is presented. A trio of meso‐mesityl BODIPY dyes display the best activities and long‐term stabilities of more than ten days with the 2,6‐diiodo derivative showing the best performance. The lighting of the dye: Different boron dipyrromethene (BODIPY) dyes show remarkable long‐term stabilities in a multicomponent system for visible‐light‐driven hydrogen production from THF/water mixtures. When combined with triethylamine and [{Pd(PPh3)Cl2}2] as the source for Pd0, systems that are active for more than ten days can be obtained (see scheme).
