Description
Summary:Determination of the amount of arsenic in samples of drinking water is facilitated if the as in the sample can first be concentrated into a smaller volume. The utility of the distillation method described in standard reference works was investigated. Optimum conditions for application of this method were determined based on experiments in which percentage recovery of the As present in the original sample was measured as a function of the amounts of the reagents added to the original samples and of the volume of distillate collected. Improvements in experimental technique are also described.
