Influence of the blast on the gas phase in the blast-furnace hearth
Changes in the properties of the blast and the corresponding hearth gases in the blast furnace are considered—specifically, changes in the chemical composition, density, viscosity, specific heat, and thermal conductivity. The results are plotted. The conclusion is that, with increase in oxygen conte...

Summary: | Changes in the properties of the blast and the corresponding hearth gases in the blast furnace are considered—specifically, changes in the chemical composition, density, viscosity, specific heat, and thermal conductivity. The results are plotted. The conclusion is that, with increase in oxygen content in the blast, the properties of the hearth gas are improved. That offers interesting possibilities for the blast-furnace production of steel. |
