Summary: | The absorption and elimination of photodieldrin are examined in the freshwater flea Daphnia pulex and in the goldfish carassius auratus. Continuous exposure of daphnids to photodieldrin results in increased absorption and accumulation. Transfer of the goldfish contaminated with photodieldrin to clear water results in initial elimination in 24 hours. The two organisms can eliminate their body residues of photodieldrin if their environment is decontaminated. |
