Summary: | Two feeding trials were conducted to determine the proper inclusion level of dehulled soybean meal (DHSM) as a fish meal replacer and to get the information on the long-term effects of fish meal (FM) replacement by DHSM in Korean rockfish diets.
All the experimental diets were formulated to be isonitrogenous (48% crude protein, CP) and isocaloric (16.0 kJ energy g
−1 diet). In the first experiment, triplicate groups of 40 fish averaging 2.5±0.04 g (mean±S.D.) were fed one of eight experimental diets for 8 weeks. In the second experiment, triplicate groups of 20 fish averaging 21.5±0.05 g (mean±S.D.) were fed one of six experimental diets for 12 weeks.
In the first experiment, based on the growth performance, we concluded that DHSM could replace FM up to 20% without amino acid (AA: methionine, lysine) supplementation and 30% with amino acid supplementation in fingerling and growing Korean rockfish. These conclusions were further confirmed in the second experiment. |
