Dispersion relations for the spin-motion angles in spin-polarized electron reflection

Description
Summary:When spin-polarized electrons are reflected at a ferromagnetic surface, their spin-polarization vector exhibits a spin motion, comprised of an azimuthal precession and a polar rotation about the magnetization direction of the ferromagnetic material. It is shown that the angles of precession and of rotation are intimately related by dispersion relations. Comparison with experimental data verifies their applicability. Particular attention has to be paid to the presence of complex zeros of the spin-dependent electron reflectivity.
