Bioconcentration of endosulfan and monocrotophos by Labeo rohita and Channa punctata
Using juveniles of the fish species, Labeo rohita and Channa punctata, the bioconcentration of endosulfan and monocrotophos was investigated. The exposure concentrations of endosulfan and monocrotophos were 0.1414 mu g/l and 0.2274 mg/l, respectively. The data revealed that the isomers of endosulfan...

Summary: | Using juveniles of the fish species, Labeo rohita and Channa punctata, the bioconcentration of endosulfan and monocrotophos was investigated. The exposure concentrations of endosulfan and monocrotophos were 0.1414 mu g/l and 0.2274 mg/l, respectively. The data revealed that the isomers of endosulfan persisted in the fish, and bioaccumulation was greater in L. rohita than in C. punctata, while the opposite was noted for the bioaccumulation on monocrotophos. In both species, the uptake and bioconcentration of endosulfan were greater than those of monocrotophos. |
