Summary:The most intense studies of the water flow in the Vema Channel were carried out across the channel at a latitude of 3112 S. The authors of this paper demonstrated that at 2730 S the stream turns to the west and makes a large circulation over the Santos Plateau, which drive away approxi mately 2 Sv of the total bottom water transport (1 Sv = 106 m3/s).
