Description
Summary:The obtained data indicate that basaltic effusion in the Pre-Jurassic basement of the Western Siberian Plate began as early as the Permian (probably at the end of the Late Permian), under sublatitudinal compression (i.e., under a collisional regime), probably immediately after or subsynchronously with the formation of granites. These basalts filled the grabens formed from such a collision. At the PermianTriassic boundary, collision changed to tension and grabens of submeridional orientation began to form and basaltic effusion reached its peak.
