Summary: | The Peschanka Au Cu porphyry deposit located in Northeastern Russia, 250 km SW of Bilibino, Chukotka, has large resources of copper (6.68 million tons), gold (378 tons), and silver (3497 tons) [1]. Min eralization is registered down to a depth of 750 m. The deposit is localized in the eastern part of the large mul tiphase Egdykgychskii pluton composed of monzo diorite and syenite and intruding the Upper Jurassic volcanogenicsedimentary rocks (Fig. 1). This pluton is intruded by bodies of porphyry monzodiorite and quartz monzodiorite, which spatially and genetically control mineralization. According to the data of [2], the age of the pluton is ~142 Ma (Early Cretaceous). The deposit is controlled by a large meridional fault. Among the wall rock alterations, the most abundant are bodies of biotitequartzfeldspar rocks crossed by zones of quartzsericite alteration with a thickness from 1 to 10 m. The outer part of the metasomatic aureole is composed of propylite (Fig. 2a). Argyllic alteration is occasional. |
