Summary: | The Ilmeny complex is the most typical and well studied one among similar gneiss migmatite com plexes developed on the eastern slope of the Urals. Its basal part is represented by the Selyankino Formation dominated by amphibolite metamorphic facies. According to thermoisochron zircon dating, the early (main) stage of metamorphism is at least 2.3 Ga old[1]. The metamorphic complexes of the South and Middle Urals conjunction area went through a com plex evolution, which is interpreted in different ways [25 and others]. The following main stages with different regimes are definable in geologicalgeody namic development of the region: (1) island arc (about 470370 Ma ago); (2) collision (about 370330 Ma ago); (3) transpression (about 330270 Ma ago);(4) limited postcollisional extension (about 255 240 Ma ago) [4 and others]. |
