Description
Summary:Wang and Paegle (1996) found that primarily due to large uncertainties in wind analyses, and consequently in the moisture flux convergence, estimates of moisture budgets from different global analysis datasets have considerable disagreement. [...]the uncertainty is not reduced by using the more recent reanalysis products, as noted by Higgins et al. Orography can then be defined as ''steps'' that are particularly well suited to reproduce sharp slopes like those of the Andes Mountains. [...]it is not unexpected that an adapted version of NCEP's Eta Model is currently being used operationally at the Brazilian Center forWeather Forecasts and Climate Studies.\n The lack of precipitation over the Atlantic may be due to the proximity of the northern and eastern model boundary, which in turn may also relate to precipitation overprediction over northeast Brazil.
