The intranasal vaccination of pregnant dams with Intimin and EspB confers protection in neonatal mice from Escherichia coli (EHEC) O157:H7 infection
Highlights • Vaccination of dams with EHEC antigens Intimin and EspB leads to a passive immunization of newborn mice. • The maternal transfer resulted in an increase in serum IgG against γ-Int C280 and EspB. • The maternal transfer reduced the excretion and renal damage after challenge.
